This one is more along the lines of your garden variety writing challenges;
Take your favourite first line of a (favourite) book and use it as the beginning of a story of your own.
OR
Take the last line of your favourite book. And make it the last line of your story.
Here are the challenge rules:
1. Use 'childhood' as either the central theme or as part of the story.
2. Use the phrase "an echo of someone else's music" somewhere in your story.
3. Don't write less than 600 words.
