DIGITAL HUB
The community at Westminster has always strived to create and maintain a 21st century learning environment. An environment that breaks through the time machine and embodies the factors that make it a 21st century institution. And with what we think may be a major step into creating this environment, we have decided to launch our ‘Digital Hub’ which creates a network for communication and collaboration between the teachers, students and parents. The digital hub is a hothouse for creativity, opportunities and technical innovation.
Objective: To Create Collaborative, Creative Learning Communities
Venue: We meet in the digital hub room IN the West Wing and collaborate INNOVATIVELY using Online tools and apps.
Outcome: Digital evolution by bringing small changes. ThIS digital leadership focuses on making a transformation. A transformation THAT impacts the entire school, requiring leadership at multiple points across the school as shown in its structure.
The Digital Hub is led by Ms. Shyni Sudheer under the guidance of our Principal, Mr. Kingston Gilbert and Vice-Principal, Ms. Vijaykumari Sathyan.
It comprises of four main domains:
· Collaborators: Data Managers, who will be responsible for collecting data and managing information on the digital hub drive.
· Communicators: Bloggers, who will communicate the information in the form of a newsletter and/or through the blog. They will be designing the digital hub blog.
· Creative: Photographers and movie makers who will be capturing every each and every event taking place.
· Critical Thinkers: Writers, who will form the editorial board of the digital hub and will collect and provide material for the newsletter and blog.

The Hub data bank as shown above will have one member for every domain from each year level, and one coordinator to co-ordinate with the domain representative, who will in turn co-ordinate with the teacher representative of the section. The digital hub domain leaders are going to be the core team members of the sixth form. The domain Critical Thinker(Editorial board) is guided/coordinated by Ms Chaitaly Chhetri.
The Digital hub is piloting this plan and planning the layout with the learners of year 12 and 13, with the help of the leaders, although the plan is to implement this network throughout the school, allowing everyone to be a part of this Digital learning community.
