Dashing past the scrubby bushes and tall pines, I pondered on what to do and where to go.
My heart was in my mouth as I sped across more trees, scraping my knee in the process
and cursing to myself.
"Joey! JOEY!" I screamed desperately, frantically looking around but only seeing trees.
I collapsed to the floor, completely exhausted and weakened. My mind and body were
both in shambles. 'What will mum say? What will Louise say?' where my only thoughts,
replaying as though they were recorded in my brain. I couldn't believe that I actually lost
him. I lost the dearest person in my- No, in my mum's life.
Wheezing lightly, I stood up slowly, and quickly resumed to run and look for him. "Joey!
Where are you?! Please come back!" I pleaded, frantically look around. I wish I could
rewind and change everything back to normal, to when we were all together, but sadly I
can't do that.
I pushed past more bushes until I came to a slow stop. "Th-This place. It looks- familiar."
With wide eyes, I examined the two towering pines, with a cluster of fallen pine cones
blanketed around the roots, and the tiny black hole in between them. This seemed too
familiar, and I was sure this is where he disappeared.
The same tiny black hole which both of them had come across. Had Joey decided to check
it out? I felt like berating him right this instance. How could he be so stupid, to leave by
himself just like that, without informing anyone? And what if he decided to take a peek
inside the blasted hole?
Cursing my brother for his stupidity, I cautiously peeked into the hole but could only
see nothing but the never-ending blackness of the insides. Just as I was going to get up,
disappointed, I felt someone shove me forwards.
I screamed.
And then, everything went black.
