The idea is that you allow yourself to pick up on the mood and meaning of the piece and let your imagination wander with it.
Here is the first piece: Gabriel's Oboe by Ennio Morricone
This song is full of metaphors. It's up to you to interpret them however you want. There is no right answer.
BUT you have to incorporate the song in your work somehow. An example would be using the instruments you hear in a metaphor/simile when describing something else (oboes remind me of warm soup - go figure! there are endless things you can do with music). Or base the writing piece entirely around the song you chose. Or use part of the lyrics as part of your writing. Or any other way you can think of.
As always the minimum word limit is 600 words.
