In an industry plagued with shooting and action games, The Last of Us is a breath of fresh air. Following the story of Joel and Ellie, the 12 hour long story spreads over a world where America is torn apart by a fungi named cordyceps that has destroyed the normal infrastructure and left people in a shamble that is similar to an apocalypse.
Joel, the protagonist, is tasked with taking Ellie from Boston to Salt Lake City, Utah. This is a storyline that I very much enjoyed watching and there was never a moment where it let me down; I was always excited to find out what would happen next.
The game is as stunning as it gets, the level design and attention to detail is extravagant and in this apocalyptic world, there is beauty unlike other games. There is a sense of peace and serenity exploring a world where nature is reclaiming its domain, with broken buildings and foliage around every corner, exploring is something I recommend that you do while playing this game as the maps are also well designed and it is overall very balanced.
